'.Uh May, 1882. j W 11 FRF AS a Petition lias been filed with the County Commissioners of Union County, signed by a majority cf the freeholders ot Goudcysville Township, of Uniort County, in accordance with the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of South Carolina, approved 2:>d day of December, A. D. f882, entitled "an Act to renew and amend an Act entitled an Act to incorporate the Union, GafTney City and Ruth-* crford Railroad Company, approved March ISth 1878, asking that Cue question of subscription or no subscription of the sum of twenty-five thousand dollars to the capital stock of said Company, payable in Douds of said Township, as provided by said Act, be submitted to the qualified electors of said Township. And further that "the funds realized on said bouds to be ex pentled exclusively in the construction of said Railroad within the limits of said Township, on the most practicable route, crossing Pacolct River at any point not exceeding one and one-half miles above "Skull Shoals Ford" and Thickcty Creek in the vicinity of "Owens Ford." And whereas the said Cuuuty Commissioners liavo by a resolution of their ltoard, fixed the amount proposed to be subscribed, accord ing to t ic request of said Petition, at twentyfive thousand dollars, in seven per cent.
