'J he Courier says the Southern bound freights by these favorite ships arc already improving, indicating a heavy rush of passengers and goods which these popular vessels will bring in a few weeks to meet the demauds of the Southern trade. A St CU ESTIO*. Why is it that our citizens may not organize clubs, for the purchase of tickets in the great Land and Immigra? tion scheme of Messrs. BUTLER, CHAD? WICK & GARV, the drawing of which takes place in October next. A club of 10 for instance would purchase ten tickets, aod the holder of one of the ten would be entitled to a proportionate (hare of all the prizes that might be drawn. Thus, twenty five dollars invested in five clubs of ten persons e .ch, would secure to each person fifty chances to win a prize instead of five chances, or io the proportion of ten to one. The grand idea is to win something, and that which diminishes risk will of course bc the most popular scheme. If j our ladies especially will undertake the formation of these Clubs among their friends and neighbors, good luck will be sure to look io oo some of theo. ASSIVEBSAR? OP SCflTEB BIBLK SOCIETE.
