DuPro, formerly of Walhalla, but for seve ral years a resident of West Vir ginia, will regret to learn that he recen'tly received quite serious in jury at Rainelle, W. Va., whore he was engaged as superintendent of a largo humber plant. Mr. DuPre, on [Friday, Jan. 27th, was accosted In the plant by a man who had been discharged from the works, the man requesting that he be put back to work In his old position. He having ?boen discharged on the order of his foreman, Mr. DuPre, as superinten dent, refused tio send him back to bib old position, but assured the man that it he could find work for him in some ether department that ho would bo glad to de so. Tho two separated, and a short while after ward tho man reappeared in the works, came up to Mr. DuPre and felled him by striking him ,from the Mack with ? piece of ga's pipo. After Mr. DuPro was down he was struck .several times bout the hoad and face with the same piece of pipe with which he had been knocked uncon scious. He was unconsciou's about four hours.
