Norton arrived home last week after an absence of some weeks. iMr. Norton has a host of friends who are glad to see his gen ial face, and only wish that he could arrange his business affairs so as to spend more time In Seneca. Mrs. T. B. Jones and two children, Allen an'd Hunter, were recent vis itors in Anderson. 'Mrs. C. X. Gignilliat and son, G. W. 'Gignilliat, and Francis Wallace wont over to Spartan burg Wednes day for the purpose of attending two of tho Billy Sunday meetings. ' H. D. Neill was called to Wash ington, ?. C., several days ago on account of the serious illness of his brother, Wm. Nelli. The numerous friends of Mr. Neill are grieved to learn of his Illness and sincerely hope the crisis hos past and that he may have a speedy recovery. Mr. and Mrs. Neill resided in Seneca for a number of years, during which time they greatly endeared themselves to our people. Gipsy Smith, Jr., a preacher of wonderful power. A preliminary or ganization was had, with Rev. I. E. Wallace aa chairman and J. W. Todd as secretary. In furtherance of this great movoment a meeting was ap pointed for Friday, March 12th, at 3.30 p. m., in the Chamber of Com lHall, and all the pastors of all tho churches, of every denomination, are Invited to attend this meeting, and also ono layman from each church 'It ls hoped that there will be a full attondnnco. Tamassee, Feh. 21.-Special: Tho School Improvement Association met on Feb. 17, (Friday afternoon, with the largest number of members that we have ever had present at a meet ing. This was indeed encouraging to those who are always there. The school children entertained us with a dialogue, songs and recitations. We celebrated 'Washington's birth day at that time, after our business, had been transacted. We enjoyed refreshments later, which wore serv ed by 'Misses Gantt, Nicholson and Mrs. Chatham. On Friday night we gave a mas querade party, which was largely attended, and all who attended ap peared to enjoy lt Immensely. The patrons and friends of the school gave a working on Monday to clean off the grounds. The men worked faithfully digging up tho stumps, etc., and the ladies served a lunch and hot coffee at noon. Wo wish to thank each person individ ually who helped us. 'Misses Gantt and Nicholson spent Saturday and Sunday with Mr. and: iMrs. Dock Nicholson near Salem. They report a pleasant visit. J.
