The directors of the Oconeo Coun ty Eire Insurance Association met in Walhalla last Saturday, December 14, and elected J. P. Stribling president to lill the unexpired term of John B. Pickett, deceased. Brother Pickett had filled this place for a number of years with credit and honor to himself and to tlie association. Ile was a high toned, Christian gentleman, always endeavoring to do his whole duty as he saw it in any and everything, and his death will bo greatly felt by this association, and not only iii this, but in the church, In which he was an incessant worker, and tho community in which lie lived will feel the loss. In his death the Farmers' Union has lost one of its oldest members, and ho was one of Its strongest pillars.
