Seneca, March 18.-There will be the usual services in the Presbyterian and Methodist churches noxt Sabbath at the morning hour, after which, at the Metho dist church, holy communion will bo ad ministered. In the afternoon at 3 o'clock and at 8 o'clock at night, Dr. Taylor will deliver the lectures at the Presbyterian church as hitherto announced. Our poople are anticipating with great interest the locturos of Dr. E. O. Taylor, which will begin on Thursday night at the Presbyterian church. It is hoped to make these occasions bright and attrac tive with music programs atoaob lecture. The choir will bo selected from the sev eral churches and practico will begin this evening after prayer service at the Meth odist church. A notably rechercho affair was tho meeting of the Once-a-Week Club last week with Mrs. Elias Earl. When tho regular business progiam was finished, a four course luncheon was served. Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Carey and Master Whitner, of Lookhart, are visiting Mrs. C. K. Livingston. George H. Judd, of London, is the guest of Kev. and Mrs. C. S. Blackburn. Matthows with murdoring his wife by poisoning her. The verdict was re turned at 0.80 o'clock this morning in tho Guilford Superior Court, before a court room full of people. Judge Pendleton sentenced Dr. Matthews to twenty years at hard labor in the State penitentiary. Preacher Found Gullly. Haleigh, Maroh 10.--A spooial to tho Evening Times from Asheville says: Rev. W.
