A Visit From an old former resident pleased os a few days ago in the person of Mr. J. F. Edrington, who moved from New berry forty-six years ago. He is now living in Texas, and although 66 years of age, looks as vigorous and~ active as a man of fifty. He left here on Mon day. We are pleased to see the en ergy displayed by this young and grow ing firm and wish them success. A Correction. In speaking of Mr. Jno. R. Spear man's new cotton-the Jones' Improv ed-last week, we made the mistake of saying that Mr. Spearman made 37 bales last year on 19 acres. It was Mr. Jones, of Troup County, Georgia, from whom Mr. Spearman got the seed, that made it: Mr. Spearman did not plant any of the seed last year. Capt. Pifer's Academy Will commence its regular exercises next Wednesday, the 14th, and it gives us great pleasure to say that this school is second to none in the country. The number of students in attendane last session proving its popularity. Ben Cline bought a banjo while up North. He hasn't learned to play well . enough to go serenading yet.
