Just such is the ma chine in the South, to make ramie one of the most profitable crops, we can raise, not only on aecoutst of its intrinsic value but becaese it is much less exacting as regards labor than cotton. We hope the machine Ju'st invented by Mr. Lefranc, of New Orleans, may get the reward. It is said to crush the bark, extract the guim and cleazt the fibre at the same mo mnent.
