Winnsboro.?There was an enthusiastic meeting of town and Fairfield county people present at the court house for the purpose of forming an alfalfa club. Short, inspiring talks were made by Messrs. Briggs and Johnson of Rock Hill. The club was formed with J.'Q. Davis as president, and Howard Lemmon, assistant farm demonstrator, secretary anad treasurer. A carload of lime has been hauled in for the purpose of distribution. ! Sumter.?Sumter people are glad of j the new extension of service over ! the Atlantic Coast Line that now gives an afternoon train to Columbia. Heretofore whenever Sumter people j wanted to visit the big sister city they had either to go over ei'.rly in the morning or late at night and had to j come back either early in the after- i noon or dreadfully early in the morning.
