An elaborate and very interesting programme has been arrang ed and. teachers and pupils have been at work for sometime to do the occasion justice. Rev. J. E. Bailey, pastor of the Red Bank Baptist church, Saluda, will p each the Baccalaureate sermon on Sunday, May 24, and on Monday evening at 8.30 o'clock the literary address will be delivered by Prof. L. T. Baker, of the Uriveraity of South Carolina. Ten young- pec pie will- receive diplomas, making the largest class in years. The school is under the superintendence* of W. E. Black, who is assisted by Miss M. u. Wingard, Miss Ellen Hendrix, Miss Mattie Jordan Brown, Miss Kate Shull, Mrs. W. E. Black. The music department is under the direction of Miss May Lois Boozer and Mrs. E. B. Roof. Hearing Postponed. In the inatter of the State vs. about fifty laborers of the J. G. White Con straction Co., who are building the dam, at Parr Shoals, charged with working on Sundays, the preliminary hearing which was set for Wednesday by the Magistrate at Jenkinsville, Fairfield county, was postponed to a date to be named on account of the death of a sister of Mrs. R. A negro answering to the name of Haywood Taylor, was arrested in Columbia one day last week and was brought to Lexington by Sheriff Sim J. Miller, and lcdged in jail.
