Lewis wa? taken to the Samaritan hospital, but was soon permitted to go to his home. The man who shot him esceped. While harnessing a male in the stable at 418 Easthouse street, William Puffin, a negro, 32 years old, of the j same address, wa9 kicked in the head i and knocked down. Getting to his feet, Piffin discovered the mule lying on the ground. Examination showod that the animal's leg was broken.
