The fifteenth annual fair of the Lexington County Fair Association is in fu!l blast. With the weather propitious the gates were opened yesterday morning and throughout the day hundreds of pjople viewed the exhibits and watched the racing. The exhibits as a whole surpass in excellence all An o n-PpAi?fa j^lC/YiVU0 CiiVil/3. Lv ry department of the big fair is ful , showing as never before the wondertul resources of the greatest county in the Palmetto State. The liorse and mule department is decidedly the best ever, the number of entries being far in excess of other years, and the stock being of the highest class. Today the attendance is recordbreaking, the feature of the day being the scneduled addresses of Hon. E J. Watson, commissioner of agriculture of South Carolina; A. G. Smith, of the United States department of agriculture, and E. B Mason of the forestry depirtmentof the federal government. The fair will come to a close tomorrow, and as has been the custom in the past, every old soldier will be admitted to the grounds free. Notice ol Bar Meeting. Mr. W. W. Barre and others have i appealed from the decision of the County Board of Education in the matter of selecting a siie for the new ten thousand dollar school building, i the county board having decided, in favor of the school trustees, and the question will now come up before the State board. And upon the farther ground that said proposed site selected for the new school building is neither in the centre <f the territory of said district nor convenient to a majority of the citizens living in said school district, as the law directs shall be the case " It is not known when the question will be heard by the State beard, no date having been fixed a9yet.
