Beeland, of Macon, Ga., will be glad to learn of the success she has attained in her studies in the Grcsham High School of Macon. Out of a list of CO girl gradaates and 25 boys, Miss Beeland carries off first honors, standing at the head of the entire class. Says the Macon Telegraph: "In addition to winning first honors at the Gresham school, Miss Ruth Beeland also win9 a special prize of ?5 in gold for the best essay from Bibb County on "invents in Georgia in 1804," offered by Sidney Lanier Chapter, United Daughters of the Confederacy.
