Blease paroled Alfred Free serving a sentence of 10 years and W. L. Henderson, serving a sentence of twelve years for killing X. M. Morse in Saluda county in 1907. The parole was granted during tmod hehavior. The action was ? a o recommended by Judge Watts who heard the case. Solicitor Cooper writing of the cases said that he could not at this time recommend a pardon. The case attracted a great deal of attention at the time it occurred.
