C., on Sunday morning, following a long illness of tnhercnlosis. Col. Tillman first became prominent j as an officer in the Spanish-American war. He later ran for lieutenant gov ernor and was elected by a large majority. He ran for governor, but was defeated by D C. Hey ward. The fight that was waged against Col.
