The old year has come, gone and and is now numbered with the past, with her successes and failures. ' Fairly good crops have been haryested, prices for cotton have been up, the farmers have pain up and seem contented, and are beginning prepararations for the coming crop. A Farmers' Union has been organ: ized here with a large membership. ~ r- Since the recent severe illness of our little Winnie Janet, the health of the happy Felix family is excellent. Hartley, son of Mr. A. L. Hartley, of Lexington, has been promoted to the important position of assistant station master of the Savannah Union Station Company at Savannah, Ga. Mr. Hartley has been the assistant ticket agent at the Union depot at Savannah for about a year, > and the promotion comes in Ijnst recognition of his services. VMr. Hartley is a very young man.
