Born Jane 29, 1841, and died May 5? 1910, aged 6S years, 10 months and 6 days, James Albert Hook, who was a member of the Lutheran church for years, died near Gaston and was buried at the Corley grave yard near Irene. He leaves several brothers and one sister, with several children to mourn his departure. He was one of the first men to eulist in the war of the Rebellion and served with gallantry to the end of the struggle in Company K. ; 13th Regiment, South Carolina Vol- ^ unteers, taking part in all the battles I around Richmond and others in Mary- I iand and Pennsylvania, but now he B has fallen and answered the last roll I call.
