Mrs. J. P. Shall, nee Miss Louisa J.
Killer, was born in the Dutch Fork of
Lexington county Dec. 1st, IS \2, and
died at- !icr home in the Iiookyweil
section April loth, 1:110.
She joined iv.ohol High Hill Lutheran
church when a mere j.iri, v.hitlii r
she remained a consistcat member for
many years.

Sister 8hull loved her chnrch and |
worked in every way to serve her
Lord and Master.
For foniteen weeks she suffered
greatly and never murmured, but I
said ' 'The Lord's will be done." |
Her's was a true life and she died a
most triumphant death. She had no
fears of death, and not Ion* before
she breathed her last 6ho called all
loved ones and friends to her bedside
and bade them a loving farewell, saying
"Meet me in Heaven,'' and ottered
these words: "What are onr /
ight afflictions her e, but blessings in |
disguise; they will make the crown
more bright when we the crown shall
wear."
Truly a good woman has been taken
from onr midst and how we do miss
her presence, but onr loss i9 her gain
and we bow in hnmbie submission to
Him who doeth all things well.
May God comfort the hearts of the
sorrowing loved ones and bring them i
finally to that heaven of rest whence '
mother has gone.

OBITUARY.
Born Jane 29, 1841, and died May 5?
1910, aged 6S years, 10 months and 6
days, James Albert Hook, who was a
member of the Lutheran church for
years, died near Gaston and was buried
at the Corley grave yard near
Irene.
He leaves several brothers and one
sister, with several children to mourn
his departure. He was one of the first
men to eulist in the war of the Rebellion
and served with gallantry to the
end of the struggle in Company K. ;
13th Regiment, South Carolina Vol- ^
unteers, taking part in all the battles I
around Richmond and others in Mary- I
iand and Pennsylvania, but now he B
has fallen and answered the last roll I
call. I
