The latter town is said to be practically destroyed, while at Centerville and t adjoining villages the loss is reported very heavy both in lives and property. Near Pulaski, Guiles county, the death list reached 12 and many are injured. In the vicinity of Chattanooga, the storm was felt at its worst. Telephone and telegraph wires were blown down and the movement of trains was greatly hampered. The hurricane followed the Cumberland Valley, wrecking small towns and destroying farm houses. At. Fhenezer. 18 houses were blown i down. At Charleston the storm swerved j np the Hiawasee river, destroyed j much property. At Fayetteville, three i are known to have perished.
