Delmar, May 9. Lloyd. > Deafness Cannot Be Cured by local applications, as they cannot reach the diseased portion of the ear. The mill men claim that there is a great surplus of manufactured goods on hand in their warehouses, in spite of the contention that there is a shortage in last year's cotton crop of over two million bales and that they are losing money every day they run. The farmers claim that cotton cannot be grown with profit for less than ten cents the pound. For once the law of supply and demand seems to be exploded. The farmers are their own advisers, but this state of affairs is unnatural and unwarranted in an era of great prosperity, and the consequences will be disastrous to the agricultural interests unless the farms are made self-sustaining and independent of panics and speculators.?Newberry Observer, f .Money to Lend.
