[ The Sods of Confederate Veterans of Camp Harman met in the office of The Home Bank Monday at 12 o'clock and completed an organization commenced August 13th of last year. A Painful Accident. While on his way from his office in town to his home in the eastern suburbs Dr. J. J. Wingard met with a painful accident Wednesday evening. He was driving a fractious horse and when near the Lexington Mills, at a point where there is a large granite bed, the horse became frightened and unmanageable. The Doctor was thrown out of his buggy and falling upon the rocks sustained severe injuries about his bead and person and when found he was in an unconscious condition. He was taken to the home of Mr. Slice, nearby, where he remained until next morning, his condition being such that it was thought unwise to move him sooner. The Doctor, we are glad to say, has recovered sufficiently to be able to be cut and we sincerely trust that he will continue to improve rapidly. . News from Derrick. To the Editor of the Dispatch: The health of our community is i A i very gooa at present. Miss Mary Amick, accompanied by her three brothers, paid Mr. Jacob Oswalt a flying visit quite recently. Mr. D. L. EptiDg has recently built a nice new barn. The small grain of this vicinity is looking fairly wt 11, although it has been injured on the account of so much rain, but if there is no other destruction there will be a very good crop made. The people of this locality will be minus of March com this year. The writer had the pleasure of attending the picnic at the close of Star school. The exercises were good and the better part was a good dinner, which was also enjoyed.
