The tract consisted of abont 143 acres and was purchased at private sale by Mr. J. W. Long for $700. Capt. L. W. Redd has placed on our table a curiosity in the way of a flint rock, having the appearance and color of bacon, one side representing the lean and the other the fat. It was found in a cave at Rutherford, N. C., supposed to have been inhabited by Daniel Boone. A gun stock acd a sword were also found in the same cave. Rev. J. G. Grajphen filled the pulpit at Peters' last Sunday morning, the Rev. W. D. Quick supplying his appointment for the morning hoar at St. Stephen's in this place and also preached at the Methodist charch in the afternoon. Kev. J. A. Cromer filled the pulpit at St. Stephen's in the evening. All of these divines preached excellent sermons to Urge and appreciative congregations. /. ... -<* Cheap Sale.
