The ne ws was a shock not only ;<> l is relatives Imt to Lom's many friends here. Mr. N. E. Moore: his mother, Mis. A'. G. Moore, and sisters, Mrs. L. 8. Elliott and Miss Vade Moore, wont over tc Plains Thursday to attend the burial, the funeral having been conducted Wednesday night at the residence of Mr. M. L. Flow, in Monroe, bv Dr. A. M. Croxton. The remains were accompanied to Monroe by Mr. W. L. Moore, a brother of the deceased, who lives in St. Louis. Mr. Moore was book-keeper and confidential clerk of theChanHarrington Mule Co., and had been in St. Louis abont a month. His wife expected to move to St. Louis soon. The particulars of Mr. Moore's death, says the Monroe Enqriror, as given by hit brother who was with kim, is that on Monday morning Mr. W. L. Moore, who is book-keeper for a stock cumpauy at the National Stockyards, finding that his broth er had not reported at the office, went to his brother's room anc ? 1 1.! * i iuiiuu nun hick, mu not enougti to require the services of a physi J cian. Physicians were hastily called and they did everything possible to save life, but to nc avail. The physicians stated that Air. Moore was poisoned witl morphine. As to how or by whom the dru^ was administered is a mystery. An examination showed that the deal man's watch had beer bed from his person, th< < i . which was fastened to thi -t by a ring being broken anc tin ling remaining. All his mouoj and other valuables had been tak en. A thorough search ot the room and clothing was made tv find a vessel which had cantainod morphiuo or other opiate, but al to n opurpose. Enquiry was mad< at neighboring drug stores con corning the purchase of opiates bj t ho deceased, but he had not madi any purchase of drugs from an^ ' of tbem. On May 16th, 1899, he wai happily married to Miss Ethe Flow, who, with a bright litth , girl, survives bim. He was th< oldest of six brothers. Death of Miss Nannie McAteer Miss Nannie McAteer, of the Sincerity section, aged about 4C years, daughter of the late Eli and Mary McAteer, died Thursday afternoon, Nov. 6, 1902, Jafter c protracted illness. She leaves two brothers, F. M., and A. W. McAteer and four sister?, Mrs. Jennie Steele, Mrs. Mattio Parks, Mrs. Macy Knight and Miss Ellen McAteer surviving hor.
