Montgomery died ut the homo of her brother, Mr. M. N. Montgomery, in Gills Creek township Monday night, Oct. 13th, 1!)02, after a long ill ucks. She was stricken with paralysis about tho last of .Fune and suffered a second stroke the last of .July, She was 57 years of age and a consistent moiiber of Pleasant Plain Baptist -church. Her remains were interred yesterday aft? moon at 4 o'clock at Gills CrooK cemetery. Sudden Death. Mi-s Mary E. Graham, an aged maiden lady of the Gills Creek section, died suddenly last Fri day afternoon. She lay down on. a bed about 2 o'clock and an honr later it was discovered that she was dead. Her remains were interred at Gills Creek church Sunday morning. Marriages. Married, at Heath Springs, on Sunday evening last, hy Magistrate Mobley, Mr. J. Foster Weaner and Miss Lily Tbreatt, daughter of Mr. Joseph Threatt. ? Married, on Sunday, Oct. 12. 1902, by Magistrate Caskey at his residence, Mr. Lewis Rollings and Miss Nannie Knight, daugh ter of Mr. Win Knight, both of this place. Meeting of Lancaster Bible Society. The annual meeting of the Lancaster Bible society, auxiliary to the American Bible scciety, was held Sunday night in the Methodist church. The address was delivered by the Rev. Dr. H. W. Bays, and it was most interesting and scholarly. After the address a collection was taken and $32 realized. Col. R. E. Allison was elected a life member of the American Bible society, but having already been a member nearly all of his life, some one else will be elected in his stead. The old officers were reelected as follows, viz: Rev. J. A. Boldridge, D. D., president; Rev. Chalmers Eraser, vice president; R. T. Beaty, secretary and treasurer, and Waddy C. Thomson depository. ^ ?The ladies of the Presbyterian church at Heath Springs will give an oyster supper Friday evening next, 17th instant, from 5 to 7 o'clock. ?The Presbyterian synod of South Carolina meets in the First Presbyterian church, Columbia, at 8 p. m., on Tuesday, October 21st, and the gathering will be a most representative one. After the ceremony ll.e procession will form in the order previously ot served and returning on its route halt at the arch facing the Masonic Lodge, where same ceremonies will be performed as at the school house. Two addresses are to ho delivered; one at the school house by Grand Master Whitehead, the other at the Lodge by Past Grand Master Barron.
