Porter and Mr. Usher, who had just shot a raWbit and given it to Mr. Porter's little child, was standing near the cook room door talking to Mis. Porter whea the shooting occurred. A double barreled shot gun was the weapon used and both barrels were bred simultaneously. The first load took effect in Mr.Usher's left brusst above the heart and the second between the shoulders. Usher fell to the ground exclaiming <4Oh Lord!" and died in a few minutes. The two men lived just across the road from each other but bad feeling had existed between them and they bad not spoken to each other for several years. Monday while Mr. Stoele [ was on the roadside, Mr. Usher stood in his door and used language to him that aggrerated their differences and led to the homi* cide. The affair is very much regrotted by the friends of both parties. Mr. Steele is a prosperous young farmer about 35 years of age and has a wife and four small children, W. C. Hough, Esq., represents Mr. Steele and we understand will make application to the court at once for bail.
