The foregoing facts are from a Frankfort special to J The New York Sun, in which the ! correspondent goes on to say that on Sunday he had conversation with twelve or fifteen men, all but one a Democrat, as to what these chances are, and that one f them, a lawyer, was met at the church. He said: 4,Oh, I don't know. I think the feeling is that we'd rather have him punished by law than to shoot him, hut there's a feeling, too, that the law is more or less uncertain." *'How is he coiner to he reached by law !" asked the reporter. 4'Well," said the lawyer, 4'there are two or three ways he can be reached in connection with the shooting of Senator Goebel, for be must hare known about that in advance. If wo can't get the proof necessary to prosecute in this lina why we have got him suxe on a charge of treason." The reader must bear in mind that this lawyer is one of the best known in this part of Kentucky, and practices before the Court of Appeals. Finally, be said: , 4'He's a marked man any way, and there is no question about his fate ultimately.*' Won't this feeling of assassination dio out as soon as the Democrats get possession?" asked the reporter. "Killing, you mean," corrected the lawyer. "No it won't It is deep set, and it won't. Taylor is a marked man." Another lawyer said: "My personal opinion is that his life is not worth two cents. Nothing may l>e done for a while It may he not happen *or some time, hut he'll ho picked sooner or later." The military man said: " There is no question, hut they are after him, and it's my opinion they will <ret him, and it won't he a long tune before it is done either.''
