Onceola, Doc 4, '90. , * The Old Council I'liuuinioiisly Renominated. tiiaHH meeting of democratic voters of the town of Lancaster was held in the courthon Thursday night to nominate a Mayor and six Aldermen to servo the ensuing two years. J T Green, Esq, was elected chairman and T S Carter secretary. A motion to make the nominations by acc'amation was unanimously carried. The old council, Mayor W C Thomson and Aldermen T K Cunningham, \V McD Brown, W T Gregory, L C Pay sour, .1 E Taylor and E E Cloud, were renominated, unanimously, there being no opposition. Mayor Thomson and most of the Wardens huve served two terms (four years) and it is cer tiin'.y very complimentary to their administration of the affairs of the town that they should be named, without opposition, to till these positions for a third term. They had announced their pur pose to decline the honors if asked to serve for a third term, hut, in deference to the wishes of our citizens expressed in a petition signed by nearly five sixths of the voters of the town, eo emending their administration and urgently soliciting them to nccept the nomination, they consented, and with few, if any exceptions, our citizens rejoice that they will con tinue their good and faithful aer* vants.
