Railroad contractors from about Blacksburg passed through here Wednesday on their way to Chesterfield county to do grading on the new railroad between Cheraw and Camden. The Summer School Closes The Summer school for teachers, which has been in progress hero for a month, came to a close; yesterday. The school in point of numbers has not been what it should have been but in the quality of the work done it has been most successful I)r Harrison has i proved a most excellent and highly satisfactory superintendent and Mr ltumho a most efficient assistant. Of the -iij teachers enrolled at the opening of the school not many more than half were constant in attendance to its close. Some had to stop on account of their schools opeuing ami some fow, presumably trot tired and quit.
