I _ l i i- ?>i i iii ijeuger. Death of Little Olin Bird. Died, oil the lilst of October,of throat and Ititior trouble, little Olin Bird, son of Mr Lee Bird of Trades v i ' le. According to the providence, wisdom and purposes of God, which are obscure to mankind, the Lord sent the Death angel, arrayed in the apparel of death into the happy home of .Mr Lee Bird, about 1 1 o'clock, Friday night, lilst Oct., and called away the 5ycar old son who was the treasure of his parent's hearts and the sunlight of their happy homo. There was something grand and noble in the nature of little Olin, above other little boys of his size and age in the ^community. lie was never known to engage in the evil conversation of other little boys but often corrected his little playmates for vsing profane language, and when he heard grown men using bad language the expression of the little boy's face was that of correct ion. God's -'still small*' voice often comes from Heaven's high throne through little cldldren rebuking mini of the error of his way. Little Olin often ?|or?tioned his parents about heavenly things whieh showed that the little boy iiad the Spirit of the Lord in his little heart and soul. lie always knelt by his bedside at night in prayer to God and often asked bis little .sister to kneel with loin. As death s curtains begun to dr.iw dose around his little hotly, shutting out from his dying view the al?undanee of life's toils, cares, troubles, and its few pleasures, he uttered these memorable words: kd don't want to stay with papa and mama, I want to go to heaven." Th \se last words of the little hov should 'ing, in soft and pleas e- 'i iin mm.-.-*, luiiiiori hi iik* parent s ears that they have a son in Ihe glory Intnl. Though little Olin has just uttered his last farewell to dear parents and friends on earth with whom he often met with pleasure, and crossed the dark and mystic river of doath into Heaven's land of glory and Miss, his loving parents and relatives, are at the l same river s Mink only waiting j to cross over too into that happy j country. The sad stricken family has the : sympathy of the community and the deepest sympathy and pray- j era of the writer. F II F. The catacombs of Koine contain the remains of about f>,000,(H?0 people.
