Anxious that a Farmers Institute l>o organized in this county, I vrote President Hartzog, Clemson College to send plan and in formation. Subsequently at its April meetinlt the Farmers'' Alliance passed a resolution appointing myself and Mr .1 R Knight to confer! with the proper authorities and' endeavor to establish one in tho I county. The following letter from Prcsi dent Hartzog explains itself and! we earnestly invito tho aid and | cooperation of every farmer whether he is a member of the \ Farmers' Alliance cotton growers' [ association or not in our efforts to ! organize this institute. Respectfully, R L Hicklin. President Hartzog writes Mr Hicklin under date of April 17th as follows: "Your letter inquiring about Farmers' Institutes has been received. I will have a representative of the College to visit your j County as soon as practicable to give full information and arrange details." Memorial Day Program. The Ladies Memorial Association met at the residence of Mrs E J Wylie Monday afternoon to arrange for Memorial day exer cises. The following program was adopted: Tho citizens will assemble at the court house at 5 o'clock p m May 10th. The procession will be formed in the usual order? veterans, ladies, children of the graded school, citizens?and march to the cemetery, where the exercises will take place.
