the Farmers'' Alliance passed
a resolution appointing myself

endeavor to establish one in tho I
county.

cooperation of every farmer
whether he is a member of the \
Farmers' Alliance cotton growers' [
association or not in our efforts to !
organize this institute.

The Ladies Memorial Association
met at the residence of Mrs
E J Wylie Monday afternoon to
arrange for Memorial day exer
cises. The following program
was adopted:

the court house at 5 o'clock p m
May 10th. The procession will
be formed in the usual order?
veterans, ladies, children of the
graded school, citizens?and
march to the cemetery, where the

of jealousn committed suicide
Sunday night by shooting him*elt
through tho head. Recently,
his wife had seemed too intimate
with another negro at tho mine to
mit Sam and he had announced
that ho would not put up with it.
Sunday night ho said to several
darkeys that his wife would never
live with him again. Soon tho
report of a pistol was heard and
Sam was found dead with a bullet
hole through his head, his brains
oozing out, and his pistol
slightly grasped in his hand. U}>
to 10 o'clock Monday the whereabouts
of his wife had not been
ascertained and it was thought
by many that ho had induced her
off that night, murdered her and
secreted her body in the woods
ind then returned and took his
own life.
