The Edgefield Manufacturing] Company, Edgefi>ld, S. C., has re cently installed fifty new looms. This is one of the model plants of the South. It takes the cotton from the field, handles it until it is turned into cloth, and also utilizes the cottonseed, there being in connection with the cotton manufacturing department an oil mill and giuuery. There are now 200 looms and 5,000 spindles making sheetiugs and yarns. This ia a new plant, chartered in 1895, and having a capacity for 300 looms and 10,000 spindles. Edgefield is the couty-seat of county of that name, is in a fine cotton-growing section, and, is a prosperous and growing town. Southern Field.
