Death of a Well-Known Colored Man On Sunday last, the family an 1 friends of "Tom Bacon" laid him in ttie grave, witii every feeling of love and every cere mony of respect. He was widely known a- d so weli beliked as to be a privileged character among all colors, cia: ses and ages. The young gentlemen of our town were much attached to him ; many of them treated him with unbounded kimi ness in his last illness, and most of them followed him to the grave. He was our grandmother's house-servant in our earli est days, and we can safely say that throughout his life of 00 years, in pros perity and adversity, in peace and war, he was ever faithful, useful and kind hearted. May God rest his soul !
