C., and devoted to Politics, professing and vindicating the pure principles of Southern Demoeracy-to Coimierce, Agriculture, Literature and the Family Circle; containing also. all important obtainablo items of latelligence. Also, contributing as-far as its ability extends, a few truths in the Arts and Sciences. In matters of general interest, the Southern Democrat will be conducted with a view to render it acceptible to all classes of the community, and to keep its readers advised of all matters of public nnd general interest, and also those matters of a local nature which more particularly afflect the.in terests of the District. On all subjects. the Southern Democrat will be rearless and independent, but at the sametime, the subscriber pledges himself that the columns of his paper shall never be prostituted to selfish purposes, or opened to discussions calculated to excite perso nal enmity and discord. In size, the paper will be double medium, and rinted on entirely new Type.
