No doubt these renegades from Webster's elementary speller enjoyed the sport hugely; to them it was irnmeuhly funny; but in tlici* ignorant bliss they little thought of the vast difference between their position and that of tbo boys who pelted the tr^kiu sport. All such acts are an offense against the United States postal laws, and "any persons convicted of willfully and maliciously injuring, tearing down, or destroying any letter box, or other receptacle established for the safe deposit of matter for the mail or for delivery, shall (or every such offense, forfeit and pay not less than one hundred nor more than one thousand dollars, or be inprisoned not less than one nor more than three years."
