Wkile prices continued to decline ' slightly during October, the survey showed the relative stability of prices ' as compared with preceding months and the improved banking situation --- j j v.. j as eviueiltcu uy suiauci lyja no anu lower interest rates, were cited as conditions favorable to continued improvement. With the exception of metals, the quantitative production in the impor tant industries was shown by the sur vey to be equal or greater than the before-the-war average of 1913. An increase of 70 per cent over the minimum was reported in the production of bitu- 1 minous coal, while the output of wheat flour, cement and wool pro ducts was shown to have been ap proximately double the minimum fig- 1 ures.
