It has been but a few yeai since this*people turned their attention t Ktockraising and their success lias been > great that the exhibits yesterday hive neve been excelled, by even the State I'air, who* gates were open to the world, and whose ofi cers bad invited stock fanciers from all part of the country to brim; their finest specimen: The exhibits iii the field crops wore such n to command the admiration of all who sni them. We were particularly struck with tin exhibit of clover hay, which was to bo seei among other field crops, and wc were led t ask oursclf the question, Why do not ou people raise more of this valuable crop? The show of garden crops and grapes, t< geiher with an endless variety of jellies an o:her domestic articles were pica-lug to be hold. Tbe spread of the works of art, the displa; of ueedle work, crochet work, patch work nnd other evidences of woman's refined last and dett fingers in the execution of thos specimens of clitliuult handiwork was lovelj indeed. These articles were arranged for in t*p 'Ctlon In the large warehou.-c which is hi cated near the railroad track, and for man> hours all the available space in that buiklim was occupied by au ever chaining throng ot interested spectators. An immense ring li:ul been formed in the park for tlio exhibition of horses, mules am colts. Around this ring a great multitude o people assembled to witness the exhibition 01 tine animals, while the judges oeeupicd tlx stand in the center. Turing the exhibitioi the Ninety-Six colored hand added pleasure to the scene by their splendi I mu.de. Their cows seemed to have reached the highest degree o pcrlcction as to excellence and ijtiali'y o milk, as well as to gentleness and kindness o animal. I'apt. Walker, Capt. Mills, and Col. Holl.iway were simply carried away with the exeellence, beauty, ami desirable qualities ol Cant. it. 1*'. Tin people of this country are obliged to v?. more attention to tha raising of stock, ani tlic sooner the better. Asa whole, the number a.id quality of the animals on exhibition were all that the ntosl enthusiastic stock raiser could desire. In no community tiro the poopie more public spirited than in Ninety-Six. The cntin expense of this splendid sliow, which must liave been great, was borne entirely by the cit i/.en? of that town. No gate or other fee* were charged against exhibitors or specta tors. All the business house* were closed In addition to their contributions ol money the merchants gave their time duiin; the whole day of the exhibiou totbe des charge of such duties as are incident to the conduct of an immense show 1 iUw tliis. A great many of our people wen kept at home yesterday, who Would havi gone to Ninety Six under more favorable eir cumstances. Nobody wa seriously hurt. We make a note of this al fair to correct the impression which has gon out that the negro was fatally wounded. Many groups of visitors assembled togeth cr. and porlook of good picnic dinners. Mr. Turner furnished a splendid barbecu.-d dinner to all who wished it. Mr. Tell Henderson, of Coronaea, wa: ntiion;' the distinguished guests who lent the: presence to the oeciision. Many of the candidates were on the ground and improved the time for making friends.
