We were particularly struck with tin exhibit of clover hay, which was to bo seei among other field crops, and wc were led t ask oursclf the question, Why do not ou people raise more of this valuable crop? The show of garden crops and grapes, t< geiher with an endless variety of jellies an o:her domestic articles were pica-lug to be hold. Tbe spread of the works of art, the displa; of ueedle work, crochet work, patch work nnd other evidences of woman's refined last and dett fingers in the execution of thos specimens of clitliuult handiwork was lovelj indeed. Around this ring a great multitude o people assembled to witness the exhibition 01 tine animals, while the judges oeeupicd tlx stand in the center. Tin people of this country are obliged to v?. more attention to tha raising of stock, ani tlic sooner the better. Asa whole, the number a.id quality of the animals on exhibition were all that the ntosl enthusiastic stock raiser could desire. In no community tiro the poopie more public spirited than in Ninety-Six. The cntin expense of this splendid sliow, which must liave been great, was borne entirely by the cit i/.en? of that town. No gate or other fee* were charged against exhibitors or specta tors. A great many of our people wen kept at home yesterday, who Would havi gone to Ninety Six under more favorable eir cumstances.
