Heath, gave a dance at her home, Heathcote, on Centra! nvenue. Piedmont park, Tuesday afternoon. from 4 to 6 o'clock. The dance was one of the most enjoyable given for the very young members of society during the holidays. The home was beautifully decorated for the occasion. Thirtieth division. arrived at his home at Fort Mill Wednesday morning after several weeks in the hospitals of Long Island and. Atlanta after his arrival from France. Captain Parks was severely wounded on the morning of October 8 in the notable engagement when the troops of the Thirtieth division broke through the Hlndenburg line. Mrs. W. R. Robinson Read. It is thought that the trains will run through from Pageland to Marlon, a distance! of ahout eighty-five miles, and that' the headquarters of the consolidated road will be in Cheraw. No definite or official notice has been given, but the Journal Is inclined to believe these changes are to be made at an! early date, probably during the; month of January. The C. & L. connects with the main line of the Sea-: board at Cheraw. and this line across the river to Kollock would be used. At Kollock the B & C. begins, and from there to Brownsville this line would be used. From Brownsville to Marion the line of the Marion Southern would be used. New Dormitory at Winthrop. The construction of a new dormitory for Winthrop college has been started and the workmen are now engaged in excavating for the budding's foundation.
