Gaffney, March 8.?County Superintendent of Education Donald Huggin has tendered his resignation to the State Roard of Education. Mr. Huggin was appointed to the position by the governor to fill out the unexpired term of Estle S. McKeown, deceased. Mr. Huggin says that the compensation is too small for the work involved, as the $100 per veer which is allowed him for expenses does not nearly cover the necessary expenditures. His resignation is much regretted on the part of his friends, as he is a most competent officer. DEATH AT EDGEFIELD. Edgefield, March 8.?After a lingering illness Mr. James A. Holland 'j died at his home here on last Mon day. He belonged to one of the county's largest and most Influential families and was honored and respected by all who knew him.
