NOMINATES POPE j r FOR GREENVILLE JOB WILSON NAMES NICHOLLS'i MAN FOR POSTOFFICE. Believed as Late as Thursday That Traxler Might Hold on For Month. Washington, Feb. 9.?The President today nominated T. H. Pope of > Greenville to be postmaster at that: place, vice D. B. Traxler, resigned. I This announcement came as a big surprise here today, not that it was ' 1 0 ? * " ' ** * u u luwivtru iur, uui iv was uenoveu,| even as late ap yesterday, that Mr. J Traxler had been successful In placing this matter before the postmaster general in such a light that he would , not resign for perhaps a month, j That. It was believed, would have A Laxative Fo) Good Dr. Caldwell's Syrup Pepsin a Safe and Efficient Family Remedy. Every member of the family is more or less subject to constipation and every homo should always be supplied with a dependable remedy to promptly relieve this condition. Whenever the bowels become clogged and the natural process of elimination thereby disturbed, the entire system is affected, and readily subject to attack by disease. Constipation Is a condition that should never be neglected., Mrs. E. R. Gilbert, of Millboro, Va., says that Dr. Caldwell's Syrup Pepsin Is a splendid laxative for children because they like its pleasant taste, and it acts so easily and naturally, without griping or strain, and she finds it equally effective for the rest of the family. At1 the same time last night it was stated that Mr. Pope would be nominated soon, but from all the circumstances seen here it was believed and understood that there would be no change in the office at Greenville for perhaps J a month or more. Evidently Mr. Traxler has been unsuccessful in. pushing his request either for a con- ( tinuation in office or for an extension of time for a hearing before the postmaster general. Mr. Traxler has been here for several days looking after his case, and Mr. Pope is here now. That this be the last of this interesting matter is the outlook here at the present time, in as much as both the South Carolina senators have stated that they will support the nomination of Mr. Popo.
