New York Jan. 25.?New York today is in the throesol the worst blizzard it has experienced in years. Traffic was tied up 'luring the rush hours by the heavy snow fall of twelve inches. The suffering on the East Side is intense. Thousands of families are without coal or the means of getting if. Wagons were unable j to make deliveries. The continuous fall of snow for 12 hours drove 10,000 poor people to the city shelters. The home of the city poor wr.i overflowed, the recreation place at the loot of East Twenty-sixth street, b^ing turned into an emergency placo of refuge and other charilabloin&tiiutions, and statu n houses are crowded. It was stated at a chari'able institution that an army of un employed ot nearly 100,000 is in the city and the t>torm will bring additional hardships on them. Negro Killed by Deputy Sheriff.
