Young Lancastrian Meets with Tragic Death in Camden?Remarkable Case of lV^istaken Identity. ^ A most remarkable case ol mistaken identity occurred here Wednesday afternoon. A young j man, who wa9 supposed to be Mr. Wilber Langley, son of the late Kohert Langley of Laucaster, ^ was accidentally killed by a live wire in Camden Tuesday even ^ ing. He was recently employ ed by the Jones carnival compa ^ ny, now showing in Camden, 11 and while attempting to attach a ^ globe to an electric wire, caught hold of the wire and was instantlv killed. {Such at least are the ^ r, y* facts as publit-hed in Wednes day's da ly papers. A brief ace >unt of the tragic ^ death was wired here Tuesday v night to young Langlev's mother, *' i: now Mrs. Jack Harris, she having 1 married Mr. Harris since the death <>f her first husband. The r body was brought to Lancaster 11 Wednesday afternoon on the f Southern's north-bound train, 11 and on its arrival at the depot, was carried to Mr. Harris's homo liu the mill community. At the ^ requert of Airs-, llirris the cofiin 11 was opened, and ihe and other . members of the fun ly, as well ' as Iriends present, d* clared with- ' out hesitation that, the comae 11 * i was that ot Wilber Langley. No doubt existed in the mini of any ^ one. Later in tin afternoon * Mrs. Mary Orre, also of the mill village, wl.o was tl o *ilow of * the late Gillam Sowe'l, of this 1 county called at'li-* Harris home, r to view tie r< mains of what was thought to lc her neighbor's son. The moment she saw the dead c face she recogn zed it as thai ol her own son, Mr. Lewis Sowell, 1 by her first husband. The motif- 1 er of young Langlev, as well as ' others, goon boeatne convinced tliat Mrs. Orre was correct in her * identification of the body. In 1 lact, it there were any lingering ' doubts they wore removed Wed1^. nesday night when Wiiber Lang- ' ley himself, who lias been at w ork in the county, at Mr. Hamp Smgner's, appeared on 1 lie scene, alive and well. Young Sowell was about 17 years old. Besides his mother, lie leaves two brothers and a sister, Mr. Ernest Sowell, ol Orangeburg county; Mr. Itoy l i 11 i \*_ i> r -1 oowt'u ana ivub. j>. w?wer/, ui this place.
