In Memory of Mrs. Jefferson Davis?Resolutions Adopted by the Lancaster Chapter U. D. C. The following resolution" were offered by Mrs. A. It. Bunks and adopted by the Lancaster Chap ter U. D. U. a' the meeting Nov. 18T: Acms^ our pathway a great shadow li is fallen ! The death angel has removed from us the deare-t heroine of our Southland. In the death of Mrs. Vurina Howell Davis, widow of that sublime patriot and Christi&u gentleman, Jefferson Davis, President of the Confederate] States, we share a part in the] profound sorrow of our grief-1 striken country, and as members J ot the Lancaster Chapter of the ! U I-). C. we desire to pay our! tribute ot love end honor to her i illustious memory. Therefore , be it re-olved : 1. That we bow in humble submission to this dispensation of D vine Providence which has so sorelv bereft us, knowing that "the Judge of all the earth will do right." and that infinite love and wisdom prompt all of His! dealings with "the children ct men.'1 2. That we desire to convey our sincere and earnest sympathy to tier daughter and all 'lie. members ot her family in their sad bereavement, and commend them to I lint who has promised ' as rhv davsdemand thv sfrentrth _ shall be " j ' 3. Fresh air, exercise, nourishing food and Scott's Emulsion will come pretty near curing it, if there is anything to build on. Millions of people throughout the orld are living and in good health on one lung. tjj From time immemorial the doctors prescribed cod liver oil for consumption. Of course the patient could not take it in its old form, hence it did very little good. They can take SCOTT'S EMULSION and tolerate it for a long time. There is no oil, not excepting butter, so easilv digested and absorbed by the system as cod liver oil in the form of Scott's Emulsion, and that is the reason it is so helpful in consumption where its use must be continuous. fl We will send you a sample free.
