At mid'dght, evidently sure of liis man, Drake opened the door of his daughter's bed-room and without a word opened fire on Emerson, who was iu the <2 room witli Miss Drake. Farmer Killed in Runaway. Boston, Ga., 12.?J G.Miller, a prominent citizen of this community, was instantly killed yes terdav by being thrown from hi* j buggy. lie was returning from his farm and had his family with him when his horseR were lightened by a part of the harness 1 breaking. Pope & Fleming, cotton (actors of Augusta, Ga. The bale weighed 400 pounds. It will probably be auctioned off. Abe Simmons, who works a farm for Mr. Folk, has become known as the grower ol the first bale and it has become a regular thing for him to carry off tlie j honors.
