During it sturm last Sunday afternoon tt b >lt of lightning ptruck a pine tree near the residence ol Mr John C Blacknioti, in the Taxahaw section, and from the tree the electric flniri was transmitted by means of a wire fence to a hou*e in which Mr. Blackmon had seventeen bales ot cotton stored. The cot ton was set alire and some ot it considerably damaged beiore the llano's could be extinguished Mr. Blackmon will probably lose one or two bales out of the lot.
