In talking about retire ment, Keith noted that he had always joked about retiring early but never thought he’d be so lucky. McGee joined the company’s Lydia Plant in 1947 and later trans ferred to Plant No. 2 weaving. He entered Presbyterian College in 1947 while working the Mr. McGee second shift. When the Korean War broke out, McGee was drafted, thus bringing a temporary end to college and forcing him to take military leave from Clinton Mills. In 1953, he was discharged from service and returned to Clinton Mills and Presby terian College. In 1959, McGee completed require ments for a degree from PC. “In the mean time, I raised three children,” joked McGee. As years went by, McGee transferred into the company’s growing data processing de partment in 1961 and held numerous posi tions. In 1977, Keith was named manager of payroll, a position he held until 1985 when he assumed an administrative position working closely with Prismatics, Inc. Keith is justifiably proud of his close association with the company and takes pride in discussing his accomplishments with the company. A member of Calvary Baptist Church, where he serves as associate Sunday School director, McGee looks forward to fishing and playing golf and visiting with his three children.
