The contest was sponsored by Marlin Firearms Co. Snider teaches hunter safety courses in upstate schools. Shown with Werts are her English teacher, Valerie Jones, and Assistant Principal Bill Alexander who teaches the school’s hunter safety course. Ionia’s mother is Willie Mae Werts, a Lydia spinner.
