Credit Association Associates are borrowing from each other “When we get a loan from the Credit Association, whether secured or unsecured, we are borrowing money from ourselves and our fellow associates,” said Manager Harvey Dickert. “This creates a responsibility that is ours whether or not we are employed by Clinton Mills,” noted Dickert. “Even those who terminate employment have an obligation to repay their debt to the association.” He added, “We have been fortunate in keeping our delinquent loans to a minimum. However, any loans that are not paid on a timely basis reflects on our financial statement,” Dickert explained. “If a loan customer has an unusual financial crisis, he should come into the association’s office and discuss loan repayment alternatives.” This time of the year is a good time for Clinton Credit Association members to shop for new or used automobiles. “Our new car loans begin at 10.25% for 36 months financing. Terms vary with the length of the loan,” explained Manager Harvey Dickert. The conve nient payroll deduction and our com petitive rates along with the low cost credit disability insurance make the CCA one of the best places around to obtain automobile financing. “The Credit Association has many valuable tools to help members get their best possible deal when purchas ing a new or used vehicle,” continued Mr. Dickert, who outlined and com mented on the following four major areas involved in acquiring an automobile: • BUYING, SELLING OR TRADING USED AUTOMOBILE — “We have used auto books which list wholesale and retail values. Credit Associations Have Existed Over 100 Years The Credit Association is owned by its members who lend money to each other from a fund created by savings. Non-members cannot use the Credit Association. “We are a non-profit organization in that we are in existence for the benefit of our members.” said Dickert. Ideal ly, all of our profits are returned to membership in the form of dividends, lower interest rates on loans or addi tional services or facilities.” A primary concern of the association now, Dickert explained, is retaining a portion of its earnings to meet man datory reserve requirements and un foreseen emergencies and to keep the organization financially sound. Fitness Employees participate in YMCA program Approximately 45 employees took advantage of the Clinton YMCA’s 20% dis count for Clinton Mills employees during January. The special reduction was the Y’s way of saying “thank you” to Clinton Mills, Inc. for generously supporting the Capital Fund Campaign.
