Credit Association
Associates are
borrowing
from each other
“When we get a loan from the Credit
Association, whether secured or
unsecured, we are borrowing money
from ourselves and our fellow
associates,” said Manager Harvey
Dickert.
“This creates a responsibility that is
ours whether or not we are employed
by Clinton Mills,” noted Dickert. “Even
those who terminate employment have
an obligation to repay their debt to the
association.”
He added, “We have been fortunate
in keeping our delinquent loans to a
minimum. However, any loans that are
not paid on a timely basis reflects on
our financial statement,” Dickert
explained.
“If a loan customer has an unusual
financial crisis, he should come into the
association’s office and discuss loan
repayment alternatives.”
This time of the year is a good time
for Clinton Credit Association
members to shop for new or used
automobiles.
“Our new car loans begin at 10.25%
for 36 months financing. Terms vary
with the length of the loan,” explained
Manager Harvey Dickert. The conve
nient payroll deduction and our com
petitive rates along with the low cost
credit disability insurance make the
CCA one of the best places around to
obtain automobile financing.
“The Credit Association has many
valuable tools to help members get
their best possible deal when purchas
ing a new or used vehicle,” continued
Mr. Dickert, who outlined and com
mented on the following four major
areas involved in acquiring an
automobile:
• BUYING, SELLING OR TRADING
USED AUTOMOBILE — “We have
used auto books which list wholesale
and retail values. Knowledge of an
The Clinton Credit Association en
courages every loan participant to
make systematic payment. If a bor
rower defaults on a loan, it adversely
affects the person’s future borrowing
ability.
According to Dickert, the Credit
Association is a service-oriented finan
cial organization.
“It takes both borrower and saver to
make our financial institution grow,” he
said. “Our competitive interest rates
have enabled us to attract sufficient
funds to offer undeveloped real estate
loans, unsecured signature loans, com
petitive new and used car financing
packages as well as numerous other
programs.”

tion staff will be pleased to discuss the
benefits of “banking” with the Clinton

auto’s true worth is extremely
valuable when bargaining.”
• BUYING A NEW AUTO — “We have
a new car cost guide which lists ac
tual dealer costs for new autos and
options. This information can be very
helpful when negotiating with a
dealer. With discount financing,
rebates and other sales gimmicks, it
is more difficult than ever to deter
mine the true price of a new vehicle.”
• FINANCING OPTIONS — “Making
the right decision means knowing
your options, especially today, when
financing has become such a major
part of the auto buying process. Shop
around for financing, then contact
the Credit Association for its evalua
tion. We can help figure the actual
cost of financing.”
• ARRANGING A LOAN — “We’re
prepared to help with financing a
new or used auto. Obtaining a preap
proved loan can make shopping for
a vehicle less of a chore. Loan ap
plications are handled in the strictest
confidence, and evaluated individual
ly — based on employment, col
lateral, credit worthiness and the
ability to repay.”
As an alternative to new car financ
ing, the Credit Association encourages
members to investigate the special
sales offered by Hertz and other rent-
a-car agencies. These cars are usually
top quality and offered at substantial
ly discounted prices. Many offer
special sales for Credit Association
members.
“We have been pleased with the
overall response to our vehicle loan
program. There are many advantages
of discussing financing programs with
a member of the CCA staff.”
The Clinton Credit Association has
numerous loans and savings programs
designed to meet the needs of
members.
Save now
for year-end
expenses
Get Started for 1990
How many times in the month of
January have you told yourself: “Next
year I’m going to start saving for
Christmas and taxes ahead of time.”
“It’s a great idea,” said Credit
Association Manager Harvey Dickert.
And now is the time to actually do it.
The Time is Now
“Sure it’s tough to save when you’re
still struggling with last year’s bills.
Unfortunately, we have to sacrifice all
during the year to meet our year-end
obligations,” noted Dickert.
Frown Now; Smile Next December
The Credit Association is designed to
encourage thrift. Dickert explained
that the Credit Association’s payroll
deduction plan is designed to make
regular savings as painless as possible.
Clinton employees should pay
themselves first, which will build more
secure financial future for employees
and their families.
Credit Associations
Have Existed Over 100 Years
The Credit Association is owned by
its members who lend money to each
other from a fund created by savings.
Non-members cannot use the Credit
Association.
“We are a non-profit organization in
that we are in existence for the benefit
of our members.” said Dickert. Ideal
ly, all of our profits are returned to
membership in the form of dividends,
lower interest rates on loans or addi
tional services or facilities.”
A primary concern of the association
now, Dickert explained, is retaining a
portion of its earnings to meet man
datory reserve requirements and un
foreseen emergencies and to keep the
organization financially sound.
The Clinton Credit Association has
experienced a very rapid rate of growth
and has granted several million dollars
in loans to eligible members.

Fitness
Employees participate in YMCA program
Approximately 45 employees took advantage of the Clinton YMCA’s 20% dis
count for Clinton Mills employees during January.
The special reduction was the Y’s way of saying “thank you” to Clinton Mills,
Inc. for generously supporting the Capital Fund Campaign.
Gene Simmons, executive director of the YMCA, noted that since the center’s
renovations and additions are complete, the facility offers outstanding recrea
tional opportunities for participants.
“We are most appreciative of the generous contribution that Clinton Mills made
to the YMCA improvements,” stated Simmons.
“YMCA memberships provide numerous benefits,” he added. ‘Programs which
promote fitness and reduce stress, improve physical appearance and promote
fun and health are offered through the Y.”
